Affiliate School Fair

Thomas Alva Edison Kiwanis RSEF
Affiliation & Fee Structure

The Thomas Alva Edison Kiwanis Regional Science & Engineering Fair encourages scientifically talented Southwest Florida area middle school (6-8) and high school (9-12) students to enter the annual fair held at Florida Gulf Coast University’s Alico Arena. The science fair provides an invaluable experience for students to present their pre-collegiate work and share ideas with others. Science inquiry and research are also part of Florida’s Next Generation Sunshine State Standards for Science.

The Thomas Alva Edison Kiwanis Science and Engineering Fair is an affiliate of both the State Science and Engineering Fair of Florida (SSEF of Florida) and Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (Intel ISEF).

Through School-based Science Fair Directors, schools affiliate with the Thomas Alva Edison Kiwanis RSEF and collaborate with the Director of the Thomas Alva Edison Kiwanis RSEF to ensure student safety and compliance with all rules and regulations. It is important to note the following:

  • Regional Affiliation and Registration Fees for school parallel the affiliation structure with State and International SEF;
  • A nominal fee helps to establish commitment and minimize the number of “No-Shows” at the Regional Fair;
  • An average investment of $20.00 per Regional Finalist allows students an opportunity to compete for scholarships, prizes and awards.

School Affiliation Fee (Waived for the 2023 Regionals)

  • A base per-school, per-level fee of $150
  • Schools that span Junior and Senior Divisions would be considered two (2) schools and would be required to submit two (2) affiliations
