About

Welcome to our 2018 Edison Fairs STEM Program!

These are exciting times in Southwest Florida! During 2017, our Regional Science Fair turned 60, our Regional Inventors Fair turned 30, and and our Elementary Science Expo is now a “teenager.”

Over the past six decades, our Edison Fairs Program has grown into the largest pre-collegiate STEM competition program in Southwest Florida and includes three signature events: Thomas Alva Edison Kiwanis Regional Science and Engineering Fair (Since 1958); Thomas A. Edison Festival of Light Regional Inventors Fair (Since 1988); and Elementary Science Expo (Since 2005).

The Thomas A. Edison Regional Science and Inventors Fairs (TAERSIF) Steering Committee works year-round to organize these regional STEM events; which annually host over 1,000 local students at regional competitions and engage nearly 20,000 students in research projects at a school level. TAERSIF is a sanctioned event of the Edison Festival of Light, as well as an affiliate of both the State Science and Engineering Fair (SSEF) of Florida and Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (Intel ISEF).

Through our Fair Program, student participants compete for approximately $5 Million in prizes, scholarships, and special awards across local, regional, state, and international levels of competition.

The Thomas A. Edison Regional Science and Inventors Steering Committee would like to invite you and your students to participate in our 2018 Edison Fairs Program.

Thank you for your continued support of our Edison Fairs Program. Go Thomas!

Stay Tuned! Information regarding registration, fair guidelines, and fair forms will be available from our website beginning in September. In the interim, please follow us on Twitter: @EdisonFairs.
